The Jaaropgaaf is the official government form you get from your employer at the end of the tax year which outlines your earnings and the amount of taxes you paid that year. You should receive it by the end of February in the year following the tax year you worked in. If you don’t have one it’s no problem – we can contact your employer to organise a statement of earnings.

You could, but often the process is much more complicated than people realise. Preparing and filing your tax refund yourself will involve gathering all the documentation yourself, making sure it complies with tax codes, and sending them to the tax office, who won’t update you on your case until they tell you whether or not you’re due a refund. By using Taxback you are avoiding all this extra stress and work and making sure that you get not only the maximum tax refund, but that your tax return is fully compliant with Dutch tax law.
